FAQs
How do I prep the nail for Jade UK gel products?
Proper preparation is key to product performance and longevity. We recommend dry prep only, which includes:
- Cuticle work
- Filing and shaping the free edge
- Gently etching the natural nail using a 180-grit file or 150-grit file (HEMA-FREE)
- Cleansing with our cleanser to remove oils and dust
⚠️ Once prepped, do not allow the client to touch their nails as this reintroduces oils that can cause lifting.
For best results, always use Jade UK bases as our products are formulated to work as a system.
Are Jade UK Gel Polishes soak-off?
Yes – most of our gel colours are soak-off gels. We recommend:
- Filing off the top coat before soaking
- Using 100% pure acetone and soaking for 10–15 minutes
How long should I cure Jade UK Gels for?
Curing times vary depending on your lamp. As a general guide:
- 48W LED lamp: Cure for 60 seconds
- Always check your lamp manufacturer’s specs and test before use.
Why is my gel polish going hard or thick in the bottle?
Gel polish is light-sensitive and will begin to cure if exposed to UV or LED light.
To prevent this:
- Store bottles away from windows and lamps
- Never leave the lid off during use
- Store at room temperature (not in the fridge)
- Always keep open bottles well away from your nail lamp
Will Jade UK Gel Polish damage my natural nails?
No – not if used correctly. Damage is usually caused by:
- Over-filing the natural nail
- Incorrect or aggressive removal
Be gentle during prep and removal to maintain healthy nails.
Are Jade UK gel polishes cruelty-free and vegan?
Yes! 🐰🌱
All of our gel products are cruelty-free (never tested on animals) and vegan-friendly.
