Application Methods

Natural Nail Overlay:

  1. Prep the natural nail: Perform a thorough dry nail prep. Push back the cuticles and remove any NON-LIVING tissue using your preferred cuticle tool. Gently use a 150-grit file or sanding band to prep the nail plate and dust off any debris.
  2. Cleanse: Scrub the nail with a lint-free wipe using nail cleanser to remove oils and dust.
  3. Apply As A Base Coat: Apply an even layer of Foundation Gel, avoiding the cuticle and sidewalls. Cure under LED (48w and above) for 60 seconds or UV for 2 minutes.
  4. Apply As A Builder Gel: Apply as a Base Coat (Step 3) and Cure. Apply a slip layer (a thin, uncured layer to help manoeuvre the next bead) of Foundation Gel, DO NOT CURE. Place a small bead on top of the slip layer and use your brush to guide the product into place, avoiding the cuticle and sidewalls. Cure under LED (48w and above) for 60 seconds or UV for 2 minutes. DO NOT APPLY A LARGE BEAD - If a larger apex is required, apply in two layers to avoid under curing (repeat step 4).
  5. Apply Gel Colour (Optional): Apply a thin layer of your chosen gel colour, avoiding the cuticle and sidewalls. Cure under LED (48w and above) for 60 seconds or UV for 2 minutes.
  6. Second Gel Colour Coat: Repeat step 5 for a second layer of colour and cure.
  7. Apply Top Coat: Finish with your preferred top coat. Cure under LED (48w and above) for 60 seconds or UV for 2 minutes.

Extension Method (Small Extensions Only):

  1. Follow the application method above, steps 1 & 2.
  2. Apply Nail Form: Apply your nail form, ensuring it is flush underneath the nail plate and down the sidewalls. Ensure it is at the correct angle and not causing discomfort to your client’s hyponychium. If required: customise the nail form to properly fit your client’s nail.
  3. Apply Base Coat: Apply a thin, even layer of your chosen base coat, avoiding the cuticle and sidewalls. Cure under LED (48w and above) for 60 seconds or UV for 2 minutes.
  4. Apply Builder Gel: Pick up a bead of Builder Gel and start to form the desired nail length and shape on the nail form, overlapping the product to approximately a third of the nail plate. Cure under LED (48w and above) for 60 seconds or UV for 2 minutes. Apply a second layer of Builder Gel over the entire nail to create strength and structure. Cure again under the lamp.
  5. Remove Nail Form & Shape: Remove nail form and tacky layer, and file into shape using a 180-grit file.
