Acid Free Primer
Acid Free Primer
Couldn't load pickup availability
Our Acid-Free Primer is designed to enhance adhesion between the natural nail and your chosen enhancement system. It works by leaving a tacky layer that helps the product bond more effectively to the nail plate, supporting improved retention and reducing lifting.
Unlike acid-based primers, it does not aggressively etch the nail plate, making it a gentler option for many clients.
Perfect for:
- Prepping the natural nail before gel or enhancement application
- Clients prone to lifting
- Oily nail plates where additional adhesion support is needed
Why it may not be beneficial for every client:
Primer - even acid-free - is an adhesion promoter. Not every client requires additional adhesion support.
Overusing primer or applying it routinely to every client can:
- Contribute to over-prepping the nail plate
- Increase dehydration of the natural nail over time
If a client has healthy, balanced nail plates and you are using correct prep, application and curing methods, primer may not be required.
As a knowledge-led brand, we encourage techs to assess each client individually rather than using adhesion products as a “one size fits all” step.

Application Method
Nail Preparation: For maximum adhesion we recommend thorough dry prep. Use a a 180-grit file or sanding band to lightly etch the nail plate. If your client struggles with adhesion or has oily nails, use a 150-grit file or sanding band. Scrub the entire nail plate with a lint-free wipe and nail cleanser.
If Primer is required, apply sparingly to the natural nail - a thin, even layer is all that’s needed. Allow to air dry for 60 seconds.
Base Coat: Apply a thin, even layer of base coat and cure for 60s.
Rubber Base Coat: To ensure good adhesion, scrub a layer of Rubber Base Coat into the nail plate. DO NOT CURE. Apply a small bead over the top to give you an even layer. Cure for 60s.
Top Coat: Apply an even layer of Top Coat and cure for 60s for a glossy finish.
Matte Top Coat: Apply an even layer of Matte Top Coat and cure for 60s for a matte finish.
Rubber Top Coat: Apply an even layer of Rubber Top Coat and cure for 60s.
